What is Command-G?
Command‑G
Command‑G is an AI copilot for Xcode that provides code completion and contextual ChatGPT interaction while you develop for iOS, macOS, and visionOS. The autocomplete feature is powered by Codeium and offers suggestions in real time, helping to reduce repetitive coding work and spark new ideas.
ChatGPT integration lets developers insert the current file as context in conversations, enabling on‑the‑fly problem solving without leaving the IDE. The application does not collect user code or messages, and minimal telemetry is used only for license management and software updates.
Command‑G communicates directly with the respective API providers, and the privacy policies of OpenAI and Codeium govern each service. It is available for macOS 12 and newer, and is developed by Olivier Truong, former engineer at Stripe and Facebook.
