What is Atua?

Atua is a macOS application that enables users to perform AI‑powered tasks directly within their existing apps. By selecting text, capturing screenshots, or using voice input, users can trigger custom commands that fetch or generate responses from any supported LLM.

Commands can reference live context from the clipboard, selected text, window content, or OCR, and can chain actions such as writing back to Notion, updating calendars, or running shell scripts. The tool integrates with built‑in macOS utilities—Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Finder, Shortcuts, and the filesystem—while also offering connectors for external services like GitHub, Slack, and PostgreSQL.

Users supply their own API key, allowing them to choose from providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, Groq, and local models via Ollama. Commands are configured via a one‑time setup and can be invoked with custom hotkeys or shortcuts, keeping workflow in the current app and reducing context switches.
