Edash is an open‑source AI assistant that organizes book highlights and text snippets for readers, students, and researchers. It performs on‑device semantic analysis to locate passages with similar ideas across works, and offers both full‑text and fuzzy search for rapid retrieval.
Users can tag, rate, and annotate highlights, then export the annotated collection back to e‑pub for offline reading. The platform supports importing Kindle exports, JSON, CSV, or manual entry, and includes random discovery features to surface overlooked insights.
Rephrasing options simplify dense concepts or generate metaphorical explanations, while planned lenses will provide summarization and Socratic‑style interrogation of content. All processing occurs locally, keeping data on the device until a user chooses optional cloud sync, ensuring privacy.
