What is Openfang.sh?
Openfang is an open-source agent operating system written in Rust that orchestrates autonomous agents and capability packages across macOS, Linux, and Windows. It provides 30 pre-built agents and seven “hands” (capability packages) for tasks such as video clipping, lead generation, continuous monitoring, forecasting, and autonomous research.
The runtime executes tool code in a WASM dual-metered sandbox with workspace-confined file access, subprocess isolation, environment wiping, and a 10‑phase graceful shutdown.Security features include manifest signing, Merkle audit trails, taint tracking, SSRF and path-traversal protections, prompt-injection scanning, secret zeroization, and HMAC-SHA256 mutual authentication.
Built-in support for 40 channel adapters and 38 native tools covers messaging platforms, browser automation, web search, image generation, TTS, Docker, and knowledge-graph workflows.Persistent memory uses SQLite-backed storage with vector embeddings, cross-channel sessions, automatic LLM-based compaction, and JSONL session mirroring to preserve context and support recall.
Interoperability is enabled by the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent-to-agent protocols for distributed orchestration and external connector integration.A Tauri-based native desktop app provides a system-tray dashboard, notifications, single-instance enforcement, and global shortcuts for operational visibility and control.
