What is LakeSail?

LakeSail is a Rust‑native, Spark Connect compatible engine that runs Python workloads at native speed and eliminates JVM overhead. LakeSail supports multimodal lakehouse data, enabling PDFs, images, videos, and structured tables to be queried in a single platform.

LakeSail runs inside the user’s AWS account with BYOC compute, preserving IAM roles and encryption keys for data sovereignty. LakeSail offers a fully managed, zero‑ops infrastructure that provisions elastic compute per workload and scales to zero when idle.

LakeSail provides agentic infrastructure features such as governed query execution, dynamic runtime Python UDFs, and automatic lakehouse branching for safe experimentation. LakeSail includes built‑in governance and access control with SSO, role‑based permissions, and auditable operations for human oversight.
