What is FoodIntake?
FoodIntake tracks meals by photo, barcode, or recipe entry, automatically generating portion sizes and ingredient lists that can be edited for accuracy. It pulls data from the FoodData Central database to provide detailed nutrition facts, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals, and displays macronutrient ranges tailored to the user’s biometric data.
The app calculates estimated energy requirements and accepts macro distribution ranges, allowing users to set safe calorie deficits or surpluses. It identifies the processed level of foods, flags allergens, and offers a Nutri‑Score to assess diet quality.
Users can log snacks, beverages, and track daily intake over time, with visual dashboards for calorie and nutrient progress. FoodIntake also supports a weekly meal planner, recipe analyzer, and food frequency questionnaires aligned with FAO dietary assessment guidelines.
