Open Surfer AI and have it ready before you start
Log into your Surfer AI account and open the Content Editor from the dashboard
Enter your target keyword(s) in the keyword field and press Enter
Select the article type (e.g., blog post, product roundup) and choose a tone of voice from the 16 available options
Click “Review Competitors” to see top‑ranking pages, their word count, and key SEO factors
Toggle Advanced Settings if needed, then click “Generate Outline” to receive a structured outline based on competitor data
Edit the outline—add, remove, or rearrange headings—to match your brand’s angle
Press “Generate Article” to let Surfer AI write the full draft using the approved outline
Use the built‑in AI assistant “Surfy” to rewrite any sections, fill topical gaps, and improve readability
Connect your Google Search Console and enable Auto Internal Links to automatically insert up to 10 contextual internal links
Optionally click “Add AI Images” to insert copyright‑safe images, then export the final article as plain text or copy it to your CMS
