Open NotebookLM and have it ready before you start

Click **Create notebook** in the left sidebar and give your notebook a clear title (e.g., “AI Water Use Research”).

Drag‑and‑drop or click **Upload** to add URLs, PDF research papers, and spreadsheet files that contain your source material.

Select **Discover sources → Fast research**, type a keyword like “AI water usage”, and click **Search** to pull additional web sources.

Review the suggested sources, deselect any low‑quality items (e.g., Reddit threads), then click **Import** to add the vetted sources to the notebook.

In the center chat panel, ask a question such as “Summarize the main findings on AI water use with citations,” and let NotebookLM generate a cited answer.

Click the **Configure notebook** icon, choose the **Learning guide** role (or **Custom** if you prefer), and set response length to **Default**.

Open the right‑hand **Studio** panel, select **Infographic**, and click the card to generate a visual summary of your notebook’s content.

After generation, click the **Edit** icon on the infographic card to adjust colors, icons, or text if needed, then click **Regenerate** to apply changes.

Press **Export** and choose **Image** (PNG) or **PDF** to download the final infographic for sharing or embedding.
