The Workflow

Open Capcut and have it ready before you start

Upload your original video clip to CapCut and drag it onto the timeline

Tap the clip on the timeline, scroll the bottom action bar, and select “Remove BG”

Choose “Auto Removal” (Pro feature) and wait for the background to be automatically removed

Review results and tap the checkmark to confirm the background removal

Tap the plus icon on the right, select “Add Background”, choose an image or video as the new backdrop, and tap “Add”

Return to the timeline, tap the original clip again, scroll to the “Overlay” option, and enable it to place the clip on a layer above the background

Resize and reposition the foreground clip by dragging its edges or moving it on the screen

Extend the background layer’s duration by dragging its end handle so it matches the length of the foreground clip

Preview the video, make any final adjustments, then export the project as a video file
